This year 2RPH celebrates its 30th year on the air!
The whole team at the station has entered into the spirit of the celebration in some interesting ways we thought we’d like to share with you all.
To celebrate this special milestone, we decided that we needed not only to celebrate for the entire year, but particularly to mark a specific week. That was the week commencing April 15th, as the first ever broadcast fell on Thursday 18th April. During that very special week 2RPH broadcast some very special programmes including, interviews with all our new Ambassadors, Paralympian Lindy Hou, Jonathan (Jono) Coleman Ian ( Dano) Rogerson, Geoff Brown, 2RPH’s first Manager with Prof Ron Postle 2RPH’s early Chairman, some founder volunteers, Jeanette Ward, Liz Claridge, and Bonsall Boone. Ita Buttrose Australian of the year and 2RPH Ambassador gave an interview. These programmes can be found here. Enjoy listening to those interesting and informative interviews and please let us know your thoughts and reactions via the Facebook, Twitter or email us on This email address is being protected from spambots. As regularly listeners will be aware, we have inveigled quite a few celebrities to volunteer their and talents time to the station, in the form of promos wishing the station a happy birthday and hopefully throughout the year, we will be bringing you occasional interviews and special ‘birthday’ programmes. Further Interviews with 2RPH Ambassador and ABC journalist, Jonathan Holmes, Catherine Mahony singer and Newcastle identity, who is also a 2RPH Ambassador. Keep an ear open for more interesting promos from Angela Catterns, Richard Wilkins and cricketing legend Richie Benaud. 2RPH thanks Jonathan (Jono) Coleman for his incredible hard work and support.
