Brain Injury Australia (BIA) and Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA) – a member-based charity that has been supporting the 15,000 people with a spinal cord injury and other physical disabilities for over 50 years – have signed a Memorandum of Understanding committed to “working co-operatively to support the lives of people living with a spinal cord injury and/or brain injury”.
SCIA currently treats people with over 50 types of neurological conditions such as spinal cord injury, brain injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, and spina bifida. Its services include NeuroMoves, pictured above – with 11 gyms across Australia staffed by 50 exercise physiologists and physiotherapists offering “an innovative, holistic, evidence-based exercise and therapy service….to improve a person’s quality of life through maximising their mobility, function and independence”.
To celebrate its new partnership with BIA, SCIA is offering subscribers to BIA’s newsletter a free two-hour initial assessment at NeuroMoves, valued at $330.00. Sessions are offered face-to-face, online, or via home visits.
