Brain Injury Australia “On The Stump”

Over the last month, Brain Injury Australia’s Executive Officer, Nick Rushworth has been putting the case for better services and supports for people with a brain injury to: a meeting of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists’/ New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists’/ Australian Society of Anaesthetists’ Neurotrauma Special Interest Group (pictured above, right); 2017’s John Walsh Centre for Rehabilitation Research Forum (the Centre is named after actuary John Walsh AM – one of the driving forces behind the National Disability Insurance Scheme, who sustained a spinal cord injury playing rugby league in 1971); and the “Wall of Fame” celebrations at Sydney’s Royal Rehab (pictured above, left) – where the achievements of former clients of the Brain Injury Unit are honoured with a framed picture on the wall of the Unit. In 2017, six heroes shared their personal stories of their rehabilitation journey after surviving a traumatic brain injury. Download Nick’s presentations by clicking on the hyperlinks, above.
