Young people with a disability face widespread disadvantage in many areas of life, including discrimination in workplace, educational and financial environments. However, the nature and impact of discrimination towards young people with disability in public places is less well understood. This University of Sydney research project will investigate the nature and impact of discrimination experienced by young adults with disability – aged between 18 and 29 – when they are out in public. Sharing your experience will help create safe and inclusive public places and improve social and economic participation for people with a disability.
