INTERNATIONAL ICE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT RAISES CONCUSSION AWARENESS AND FUNDS FOR BRAIN INJURY AUSTRALIA
Brain Injury Australia was honoured to be the local charity partner for the recent 2015 Ice Hockey Classic – between Canada and the United States – and www.stopconcussions.com. Pictured, above, are Eddie Ashford – who sustained a severe traumatic brain injury the result of a dirt bike accident – his mother, Melissa, with Zenon Konopka and Brent Burns – captains of the US and Canadian teams – Kerry Goulet, of www.stopconcussions.com and Nick Rushworth, Executive Officer of Brain Injury Australia, at June 13th’s game in Brisbane. Goulet, along with co-founder of www.stopconcussions.com, former professional ice hockey player Keith Primeau, participated in a Concussion in Sport Forum held at Sydney’s Royal Rehab on June 9th.
