BIA Executive Officer’s Speech to NDIS Business Transformation Strategy Conference – Sydney, 30th November

BIA’s Executive Officer, Nick Rushworth chaired – and addressed, on “‘Monetising’ the marginalised: Rattling the can for disability” – the two-day NDIS Business Transformation Strategy Conference, produced by Akolade, held in Sydney on the 29th and 30th November.

The aim of this event was to provide “tangible takeaways to drive successful transition to new business models and ensure sustainability.” Event attendees learned about brand-building, organisational growth and revenue generation strategies proven to attract and retain consumers while transitioning business in a competitive landscape.

“I don’t mean to rain on anyone’s parade, but Brain Injury Australia’s fundamental reservations about the NDIS remain unchanged since the bill for its establishment was drafted: that an individualised funding scheme, wrapped in ‘choice and control’, packaged in human rights, or in obligations under international conventions is simply lost on anyone trying to put back together the pieces of their broken life.”Nick Rushworth, Brain Injury Australia Executive Officer
